The Ohio College Learning Center Association is celebrating its first year in existence as an affiliate of the National College Learning Center Association by paying homage to our homegrown roots at the Inaugural OCLCA Conference in the Kingsgate Marriott on the campus of the University of Cincinnati. The OCLCA’s existence is the result of the combined interest of learning center professionals throughout the state of Ohio to seek a forum where the great variety, wonderful work, and robust energy of this diverse state can have the opportunity to share, collaborate, investigate, and celebrate the work and importance of Learning Centers throughout Ohio. Beginning as a call for interest in early 2017, the OCLCA called to order its first meeting on September 29, 2017 at the NCLCA 32nd Annual Conference in San Antonio, Texas.

Nine months later, the OCLCA is calling all Learning Center Professionals in Ohio and the greater Ohio region to Conference to celebrate the tremendous achievements of the OCLCA and chart a plan for its future. The conference will be held at the tail-end of the NCLCA Summer Institute at the same location – as a symbolic gesture of our unity with NCLCA and as an opportunity for efficiency to potential attendees to both events. The 2018 OCLCA Conference seeks to connect Learning Center Professionals in Ohio, chart a course for the future of the Association, and build upon the solid foundation constructed throughout the formative process. We hope you will join us, share with us, and celebrate with us as we use our combined expertise to advance the role that Learning Centers can and should play in the landscape of our state and throughout Higher Education.
